The Meaning of “TERA”The meaning of TERA is derived from the Italian Tesi con Regolazione dell’Altezza (Tesi with height adjustment). Not uncoincidentally, TERA is very similar to terra, the Italian word for “earth,” “soil,” or “ground,”—a reflection of this crossover machine’s potential to explore the boundless terrain as part of its broad performance envelope.

Engineering Excellence Meets Striking Design

Tesi Steering System: TERA

One of the key elements of the Crossover Revolution is the latest version of bimota’s iconic Tesi centre-hub steering system, which succeeds in completely separating the front’s steering and suspension functions. The innovative solution offers a significantly wider steering angle (35º vs 27º on the Tesi H2), and a much more direct connection between the handlebar and the front wheel, increasing sensitivity from the road to the rider for a confidence-inspiring front-end feel.

Well-Composed Chassis

Like with all bimota motorcycles, in order to help the rider to feel at one with their machine, simplifying the connection between the rider and the bike was of prime importance. This is complemented by a layout that achieves a 52.5/47.5 front-rear weight distribution—deemed optimal for a performance crossover powered by a supercharged In-Line Four engine. Add to this the TERA system that maintains the front-end geometry with minimal dive and lift—even when the ride height is adjusted—and a rear swingarm pivot carefully positioned to disperse pitching forces under braking also creating an anti-dive effect, and the result is a highly composed character and consistently predictable handling.

Supercharged Performance

To give the Tesi H2 TERA truly exceptional performance, bimota selected the supercharged engine from Kawasaki’s Z H2, an engine tuned for maximum street-riding excitement. Combined with the commanding view offered by the TERA’s confidence-inspiring upright riding position, every twist of the throttle offers grin-inducing acceleration.

Advanced Rider Support Technology

Powered by Kawasaki’s proprietary dynamic modelling program, enhanced with input from a Bosch IMU, and recalibrated to suit the unique handling characteristics of the Tesi H2 TERA, highly sophisticated electronic management systems facilitate rider control and help riders enjoy the broad potential of this extreme crossover model as they explore its performance on a variety of surfaces, opening a new world of pure riding bliss.

ANLAS: Bespoke Rubber

To realise Tesi H2 TERA’s wide performance envelope—everything from light off-road riding to high-speed highway cruising—required a tyre that did not yet exist. Working with ANLAS, bimota was able to commission something unique: the world’s only dual-purpose tyres homologated to 270 km/h. The bimota logos marking the tyres stand as a visual reminder that these compounds were created specifically for the Tesi H2 TERA.

High-Grade Components

In addition to the Akrapovic exhaust, bimota selected only the finest high-grade components for the Tesi H2 TERA. Front and rear suspension units are by the highly respected suspension gurus at Öhlins, the front brakes are slowed by top-of-the-line Brembo monobloc calipers, and the ANLAS tyres are mounted on bimota-original forged wheels from OZ Racing, a MotoGP and F1 supplier with a long racing history. From the cockpit, riders are treated to full-colour TFT instrumentation, adding to the premium riding experience.

Fastidiously Selected Materials

Whether high-precision cast pieces like the front and rear swingarms, or parts machined from billet like the highly rigid steering links and pull-rod, high-quality aluminium is used exclusively. All the bodywork is made from dry carbon with a high carbon content. Each part is designed by hand, then produced in the same autoclave facilities used for MotoGP and Italian supercars, ensuring the highest quality. Carefully stitched seat covers add to the elegant finish and offer a supple feel—both a visual and tactile reminder of bimota’s steadfast dedication to an extraordinary experience.
